Affects: updating x11-servers/xorg-server from a port
    Author: se@FreeBSD.org
    Reason:
The xorg-server port now has a library dependency on x11/libxcvt,
which cannot be installed when the previous version of xorg-server
is present. To be able to update xorg-server from a port, the
previous version needs to be manually deinstalled to allow libxcvt
      to be installed.

    Affects: users of x11-servers/xorg-server
    Author: zeising@FreeBSD.org
    Reason:
x11-servers/xorg-server has been updated to 1.20.7.

With this update, xorg-server has switched from using the devd backend to
the udev backend for device configuration on FreeBSD 12 and 13. If you have
issues with input devices, please see the install message for details.

The HAL backend option has been completely removed, as it was deprecated.

If you have problems with input devices, ensure that both x11/libinput and
x11-drivers/xf86-input-libinput are installed. They are installed in the
default configuration, but if you have a custom configuration, they might not
      be.

x11-servers/xorg-server: add missing features for PRIME

Modern PRIME X11 setups autoconfigure themselves, which internally
uses the udev and udev_kms options to do so. These options are required
for X to find the available DRM devices. This is needed for PRIME on
FreeBSD.

This is also adds the DRM platform code, taken from X commit:

https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/xorg/xserver/-/commit/5468123822bbe8cd0a0abe07bbbd3a9cb14ed2cb

Differential Revision:	https://reviews.freebsd.org/D39886

Which is in master but not yet in any releases. This adds the platform
code to the build for DRM so that PRIME setups can work.

x11-servers/xorg-server: update to 21.1.8

This fixes:

* ZDI-CAN-19866/CVE-2023-1393: X.Org Server Overlay Window
  Use-After-Free Local Privilege Escalation Vulnerability

If a client explicitly destroys the compositor overlay window (aka
COW), the Xserver would leave a dangling pointer to that window in the
CompScreen structure, which will trigger a use-after-free later.

Remove WWW entries moved into port Makefiles

Commit b7f05445c00f has added WWW entries to port Makefiles based on
WWW: lines in pkg-descr files.

This commit removes the WWW: lines of moved-over URLs from these

Add WWW entries to port Makefiles

It has been common practice to have one or more URLs at the end of the
ports' pkg-descr files, one per line and prefixed with "WWW:". These
URLs should point at a project website or other relevant resources.

Access to these URLs required processing of the pkg-descr files, and
they have often become stale over time. If more than one such URL was
present in a pkg-descr file, only the first one was tarnsfered into
the port INDEX, but for many ports only the last line did contain the
port specific URL to further information.

There have been several proposals to make a project URL available as
a macro in the ports' Makefiles, over time.

xorg: upgrade to 21.1.4

Port changes:
- flavorize the port
- decouple Xwayland as it has been split from Xorg
- switch to meson
- cleanup non necessary patches anymore
- stop butchering the build system to play with Xorg.wrap but do it
  in post-install
- remove dmx (no longer existing)
- use libmd for sha1 (remove dependency on open/libre ssl)
- always activate RPC security
- simplify postinstall/deinstall script and make them cross install friendly
- remove the SUID option and make it the default, we cannot startx as user
without it
- only keep the mesa-dri dependency on xorg-server not others

x11-servers/xorg-server: patch to utilize CLOCK_MONOTONIC_FAST for the clock

This patches the X server to use CLOCK_MONOTONIC_FAST instead of
CLOCK_MONOTONIC for the clock. This is basically a reintroduction of
r208485 by jkim@ that was removed by accident(?).

Since the X server is fine with the Linux _COARSE clock the accuracy of
the FreeBSD _FAST clock should work too. I have run with this patch for

x11/libxcvt: avoid conflict with xorg-server

Nowadays, kde5 depends on both xorg-server and xwayland-devel.
Once upstream of both switches to libxcvt and xwayland-devel is
updated it'd make kde5 uninstallable. Backporting to xorg-server
is complicated by numerious patch conflicts and autotools.

Stop installing cvt(1) as Xwayland doesn't use xorg.conf(5).

x11/libxcvt: add new port

libxcvt is a library providing a standalone version of the X server
implementation of the VESA CVT standard timing modelines generator.

libxcvt also provides a standalone version of the command line tool
cvt copied from the Xorg implementation and is meant to be a direct
replacement to the version provided by the Xorg server.

graphics/mesa-libs: Change default to use DRI3

Change the default mesa configuration to use DRI3 rather than the older DRI2
interface. This should improve performance somewhat, and alleviates the need
for the FIXDRM option in x11-servers/xorg-server.

Remove the FIXDRM option from x11-servers/xorg-server.

Add an UPDATING entry for the change.

For users of graphics/drm-legacy-kmod or the base graphics drivers, this might
cause regressions. If you experience problems when running OpenGL applications
please force the use of the DRI2 backend by setting the LIBGL_DRI3_DISABLE
environment variable to 1 before starting any OpenGL application. This is
easiest done by adding it to your shell startup file or .xinitrc.

Add UPDATING entry for xorg-server, detailing the change of device
configuration backend.

Update xorg x11 servers to 1.20.7

Update xorg x11 servers to 1.20.7. This updates x11-servers/xorg-server,

Enable the UDEV backend by default, instead of the DEVD backend, for
autoconfiguration of input devices on FreeBSD 12 and later.
FreeBSD 11 lacks the needed support in base and will keep on using the DEVD
backend.
Support for the HAL backend is dropped completely, it has been deprecated
for a long time.
Update and improve the DEVD backend.
Add a pkg message about sysctl configuration that might be needed when using
UDEV.

Add etc/X11/fontpath.d as a catalogue fontpath by default.

This allows a port/package to install a symlink pointing
the real font directory managed by core XLFD (aka fonts.dir).
Adding a new entry of "FontPath" into the system-wide
xorg.conf or "xset fp" by users manually is no longer needed.

When both USES=fonts and ${FONTPATHSPEC} are defined,
the post-install target will install ${FONTPATHSPEC} into
${FONTPATHD} directory as a symlink to ${FONTSDIR}.
The symlink name has the following syntax:

  <identifier>:[attribute:]pri=<priority>

Details can be found in xorg.conf(5). A typical example
for a bitmap font is as follows:

  FONTPATHSPEC=	${PORTNAME}:unscaled:pri=60

Disable use of SSE instructions in Xorg's xf86SlowBcopy() function.

When such instructions are used to copy data from/to mapped video
memory, some hypervisors (e.g. KVM, Microsoft Hyper-V) can generate

MASTER_SITES cleanup.

- Replace ${MASTER_SITE_FOO} with FOO.
- Merge MASTER_SITE_SUBDIR into MASTER_SITES when possible. (This means 99.9%
  of the time.)
- Remove occurrences of MASTER_SITE_LOCAL when no subdirectory was present and
no hint of what it should be was present.
- Fix some logic.
- And generally, make things more simple and easy to understand.

While there, add magic values to the FESTIVAL, GENTOO, GIMP, GNUPG, QT and
SAMBA macros.

Also, replace some EXTRACT_SUFX occurences with USES=tar:*.

x11-servers/xorg-server: Update to 1.14

The X.Org server has been updated to 1.14. The changes it brings are described
in a post on the Graphics team blog:
http://blogs.freebsdish.org/graphics/2014/11/19/xserver-1-14-update-ready/

The most noticable change is the DEVD input device autodetection backend
which is enabled by default, replacing the HAL backend. The keyboard
layout configuration must be migrated from HAL's .fdi files to X.Org
files. The procedure is explained in the post mentionned above.

Several ports were removed with this update, mainly because they are not
compatible with the X.Org server anymore:
    o nvidia-driver-71
    o nvidia-driver-96

mmap() /dev/mem instead of /dev/console on PowerPC. Mostly this was already
being done in libpciaccess, so this is functionally a no-op in most cases
and unifies behavior. Besides aesthetic appeal, the ability to directly mmap()
all of physical memory through /dev/console on PowerPC is about to go away
on -CURRENT, which means everything should converge on /dev/mem.

When linking a library libA with a library libB using libtool, if libB.la
exists, libtool will add all libraries libB.la refers to (dependency_libs
field) to the linker command line and store them in the dependency_libs
field of libA.la. So everything that subsequently links with libA will also
link to these extra libraries. This causes too much overlinking.

This commit modifies Mk/Uses/libtool.mk so it empties the dependency_libs
field in .la libraries during staging. However, because .la libraries have
very limited use when dependency_libs is empty it makes sense to completely
remove them during staging.

So with this commit USES=libtool is modified to remove .la libraries and a
new form (USES=libtool:keepla) is introduced in case they need to be kept
(dependency_libs is still emptied).

NEW XORG ON FREEBSD 9-STABLE AND 10-STABLE

This update switches over to use the new xorg stack by default on FreeBSD 9
and 10 stable, on osversions where vt(9) is available.
It is still possible to use the old stack by specifying WITHOUT_NEW_XORG in
/etc/make.conf .
FreeBSD 8-STABLE and released versions of FreeBSD still use
the old version.
A package repository with binary packages for new xorg will
be available soon.

This patch also contains updates of libxcb and related ports, pixman, as well
