Get notified when packages are built

A new feature has been added. FreshPorts already tracks package built by the FreeBSD project. This information is displayed on each port page. You can now get an email when FreshPorts notices a new package is available for something on one of your watch lists. However, you must opt into that. Click on Report Subscriptions on the right, and New Package Notification box, and click on Update.

Finally, under Watch Lists, click on ABI Package Subscriptions to select your ABI (e.g. FreeBSD:14:amd64) & package set (latest/quarterly) combination for a given watch list. This is what FreshPorts will look for.

Description:
This is a developing project to monitor a large assortment of UPS hardware. Network communications are used so that multiple systems can monitor a single physical UPS and shut down together if necessary without any special "sharing hardware" on the UPS itself. CGI scripts are provided to monitor UPS status via a WEB browser.

Notes from UPDATING
These upgrade notes are taken from /usr/ports/UPDATING
  • 2023-02-13
    Affects: users of sysutils/nut*
    Author: cy@FreeBSD.org
    Reason:
The nut file ownership fixups due to the UID/GID change from uucp/uucp
to nut/nut may not be desireable for all users. Some users with custom
file ownership may wish ownership to remain untouched. This revision
to the nut family of ports/packages allows users to optionally disable
automatic fixup of nut file ownership.

  • 2023-01-16
Affects: users of sysutils/nut and sysutils/nut-devel
    Author: cy@freebsd.org
    Reason:
As of PR/268960 Network UPS Tools will now run under its own UID and GID
instead of uucp. Users who wish to continue using the uucp user and
group may add NUT_USER=uucp and NUT_GROUP=uucp to their make.conf.

After upgrading sysutils/nut or sysutils/nut-devel with this patch,
restart devd. Then restart nut. This will fix up the permissions of
UPS USB devices and allow nut to start normally.

In the rc.d scripts, change assignments to rcvar to use the
literal name_enable wherever possible, and ${name}_enable
when it's not, to prepare for the demise of set_rcvar().

In cases where I had to hand-edit unusual instances also
modify formatting slightly to be more uniform (and in
some cases, correct). This includes adding some $FreeBSD$
tags, and most importantly moving rcvar= to right after
name= so it's clear that one is derived from the other.

- Makes neon29 our default neon library. The neon 0.27.x to 0.29.x are API and
ABI backwards compatible. It is unnecessary to have more than one same
libraries (ie: neon28 and neon29) as it creates issue in our ports tree such
as CONFLICTS and made our Makefile complicate.
- Remove www/neonpp and www/neon28.
- Add USE_GNOME=ltverhack; it corrects the shared library version by change
from libneon.so.29 to libneon.so.27. It won't get bump again with no reason
  unless ABI changes.
- Bump the PORTREVISION on all ports and chase the shared library change.

Declaim responsibility for this port. I no longer have time to maintain
it properly, and while I still use it, my ratty old UPS pales in comparison
to the fancy new stuff that is out today, and therefore I cannot effectively
test the program's functionality.

While I have not tested them, the updates in ports/83318 look reasonable,
and I suggest that the submitter would probably make a good maintainer.

Major overhaul to reflect the update to the latest version, 1.2.1.

Development stalled on this distribution for a while, then went into a
frantic period of many updates per month. Now it's stabilized to the
point that it's worth keeping current again.

There are many new models of UPS supported, and a lot of changes to
how the various tools work, so users of the old port should read UPGRADING.

Unfortunately, the CGI stuff depends on a version of gd that we don't have
yet, so that'll have to be sidelined for a while.

The safest way to handle nut's state and pid files is to have them all sent to
a directory that's writeable by user uucp. I generally configure this manually
myself when I install nut, and since there are so many other things that need
manual configuration, I never thought it was a big deal. However, a user
pointed out that it'd be nice if the thing (well, at least this part of the
thing) worked more or less out of the box, so here you go.

Use gd.1 in the LIB_DEPENDS so this port doesn't accidently pickup the
presence of the wrong library (e.g. libgdk_pixbuf).
